The challenges – and how we solved them

Content & Commerce – finally aligned
Editorial and shop operated separately for a long time. Our task: to bring both under one technical roof. We completely rethought the commerce logic – with paywall, subscription model, digital products, and deep Brevo integration for segmented newsletters.

Access rights? Until then, a patchwork
Scattered permissions, duplicate data, little control. Now editorial staff, readers, and customers are managed centrally. Content can be selectively unlocked or restricted – without detours.

Apps, collections, publishing – the flow was missing
The content was there – but the path to digital was fragmented. We introduced SSO, established thematic collections, and transferred the InDesign workflow directly into the CMS. No copy-paste. No media breaks.

Scalability – pressure made things tight
Each issue release pushed the system to its limits. Today, the hosting handles traffic peaks – without performance loss.

The result
Not a classic publisher’s website. But a flexible publishing framework that takes content seriously, integrates commerce, and streamlines processes. With Blish, brand eins’ digital platform became future-proof – technically, editorially, economically.

What we did

Our solution – modular, integrated, robust.

Indesign

Subscription system + fulfillment

Complex subscription models, accurately mapped.

Whether trial, gift, or digital: the system automatically processes cancellations, changes, and billing. Integration with OHL/PrimaNeo included – fulfillment runs smoothly in the background.

Issue import from InDesign

Print data, directly in the CMS.

Complete issues can be imported from InDesign – including structure, layout, and metadata. Saves manual work, maintains editorial quality.

Online-shop

Shop logic connected with content

Products, content, paywall – one system.

Single issues, bundles, digital articles: shop logic is tightly linked to editorial content. Product variants and access rights controllable at module level.

Nutzerverwaltung

Role-based rights management

Access clearly regulated – for editorial team, subscribers, and shop customers.

Users get what they need – no more, no less. Permissions apply system-wide, without shadow logics.

App + Single Sign-On

One login, all devices.

Readers move seamlessly between web and app. Purchased content, subscription access, user rights – all synchronized, all secure.

Hosting that keeps up

Fail-safe, fast, scalable.

Our infrastructure handles peak loads. Performance stays stable – with every issue, every campaign, every launch.
